Cypress Lake High School Science Department
Shanna Adkins graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a BA in Biology. She is a native to the Lee County area. This will be her second year teaching at Cypress Lake High School. She currently teaches regular biology and biology honors. She is also the sophomore class sponsor. Interesting hobbies includes working on a family owned farm. She currently has cows, chickens, dogs, goats, pigs, and turkeys. Please feel free to contact her if you have any questions.
Paula Blair graduated from Temple University with a BS in Medical Technology. She worked in clinical laboratories for 15 years before obtaining a teaching certificate. She’s taught at Cypress Lake High School for 12 years and has been with the School District of Lee County for 15 years. She currently teaches AP Chemistry, Honors Chemistry and Chemistry I.
Aixa graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA with a MS in Biology. She moved to Fort Myers in 1996. Aixa has been teaching for 13 years, 11 of which have been at Cypress Lake High School. She currently teaches AP Environmental Science and Chemistry I.
This will be Tara Meagher’s 33rd year with our school district. She was a teacher for fifteen years, an administrator for fifteen years, and is on her third year back into the classroom. Tara loves teaching Science and has a special appreciate for Human Anatomy and Physiology because of the relevance of the subject. Mrs. Meagher completed my undergraduate at Ball State University and her graduate degree with Nova Southeastern. Tara is married to Jason Meagher, and her three children Logan, Darby and Brady all graduated from Cypress Lake High School.
Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a earned a Secondary Education Teaching Certification from Florida Gulf Coast University. Matt has taught Science in Lee County going on 15 years and this year will be in his 13th year at Cypress Lake H.S. Matt has taught and is teaching: Honors Biology, Biology, Physical Science, Honors Anatomy, Honors Marine Science, Earth Space Science and Integrated Science. Matt has been currently involved in after school programs such as School Science Fair Director, Head wrestling coach and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
