Media Arts Department Mission

Our students prepare for a successful future in the field of media communications by producing quality real-world programming for TV, print, and the Web that educates, and entertains our audiences both at Cypress Lake High School, the Lee School District and our Southwest Florida community.

Each year the Media Arts Department adapts to the dynamic needs of our students and the needs of the communications industry by allowing students to diversify and specialize in areas of study that allow the most exciting and practical skill-building.  We give our students every opportunity to achieve their highest goals as they pursue their art. Our production facility serves the Cypress Lake campus, Lee District Schools, and community with studio facilities that are home to daily TV programming and graphics production. Broadcasts include announcements with features and news stories of interest to teenage and faculty viewers. Students acquire the skills and knowledge to succeed professionally in the demanding but creatively-rewarding world of video, film, digital, and print communications. Our ongoing challenge to our students is to become the best producer they can be in these four short years as they leave a legacy for all who follow.

Marvel at Media Magic in all its forms as a year's worth of outstanding student-produced programming is reviewed for your approval. Television, web and graphic design, studio production and print products are showcased throughout the evening by their proud producers. Parents, the public, and media professionals are on the guest list.
